Now live and accepting applications, our mentoring scheme will match aspiring individual members with experienced leaders in the parking sector for a 12-month structured mentoring relationship.

The scheme will be run by the BPA, with learning interventions provided by an external provider. The focus will be on the transition from junior / first-time management / supervisor roles into a leadership position.

To find out more read this overview of the scheme and stages outlined below. Discover the benefits of being a mentor or mentee.

Stage 1 - Application

Complete the application form to be a mentor or mentee. You will need to complete the appropriate form and attend the training session to qualify for the programme. We cannot guarantee that you will be successfully matched as this will depend on the number of applications. The closing date for applications is 12 noon on 16 October 2020.

Stage 2 - Matching

Our mentoring advisory panel will meet on 22 October to review the applications and match pairs according to mentor’s skills/experience and mentee needs. You will receive an email confirming the outcome of this matching process after 22 October.

Stage 3 - Training

Mentors will be invited to a virtual training session which will take place over two half days on 2 & 3 November 2020. Please note these are the only dates available for training and will be compulsory for mentors to qualify for the programme.

Mentees will be invited to a virtual training session which will take place over two hours on 4 November 2020. Please note this is the only date available for training and will be compulsory for mentees to qualify for the programme.

Stage 4 – Informal networking event

All pairs will be invited to an informal virtual networking event on 6 November 2020.

Stage 5 – Mentoring

After the networking event, all pairs will be asked to arrange their meetings with their matched partner and commence the mentoring process. The official start date for the scheme will be December 2020 but matched pairs are able to make their own arrangements and meet before then if it suits them.

Stage 6 – Review

We will evaluate the programme with you and include further training/facilitation from our training provider. We are committed to helping you get the most out of this valuable experience.

Stage 7 - Celebration

We will celebrate the end of the programme in 2021. Further details will be available nearer the time.
