Parking Code of Practice Act - Making parking better for everyone

Nobody likes getting a parking ticket but if it happens everyone deserves to be treated in a fair, professional and consistent manner. That’s why we are delighted that the new Parking (Code of Practice) Act 2019 chimes with our calls for a standard setting body, single code of practice, and single independent appeals service.

Effective parking management is needed to help us all go about our daily lives by allowing access to places for both individuals and businesses. Many of these parking spaces are on private land, for example in retail and leisure destinations, or at supermarkets and shopping centres.

This leaflet sets out our views on how the new Act can deliver a better customer experience and achieve a positive outcome for all including landowners and parking operators.
