Our 2020/2021 mentoring scheme is in progress and has matched aspiring individual members with experienced leaders in the parking sector for a 12-month structured mentoring relationship.

The scheme is run by the BPA with learning interventions provided by an external training provider. The focus is on the transition from junior / first-time management / supervisor roles into a leadership position.

Applications are now closed but you can still find out more from this overview of the scheme and the various stages outlined below. Discover the benefits of being a mentor or mentee.

Stage 1 - Application

Complete the application form to be a mentor or mentee. You will need to complete the appropriate form and attend the training session to qualify for the programme. We cannot guarantee that you will be successfully matched as this will depend on the number of applications. Please note that applications for the 2020/2021 scheme have now closed.

Stage 2 - Matching

Our mentoring advisory panel met on 22 October to review the applications and match pairs according to mentor’s skills/experience and mentee needs.

Stage 3 - Training

Mentors attended a virtual training session which took place over two half days.

Mentees attended a virtual induction session to help them prepare for their first meeting with their mentor.

Stage 4 – Informal networking event

All pairs were invited to an informal virtual networking event on 6 November 2020.

Stage 5 – Mentoring

After the networking event, all pairs were asked to arrange their meetings with their matched partner and commence the mentoring process. The official start date for the scheme was December 2020.

Stage 6 – Review

We will evaluate the programme with you and include further training and facilitation from our training provider. We are committed to helping you get the most out of this valuable experience.

Stage 7 - Celebration

We will celebrate the end of the programme in 2021. Further details will be available nearer the time.
