Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City are now the largest hybrid parking environments in the UK, according to owner Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, which has launched a fully frictionless parking experience for visitors. In partnership with HUB Parking Technology, Westfield London is now cashless and ticketless, supporting heightened Covid-19 hygiene measures. Westfield Stratford City is set to follow suit this month.

Jakub Skwarlo, director of operations UK at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, said: ‘By making our car parks cashless and ticketless, we’re improving levels of hygiene and removing high-footfall touchpoints, to keep our guests safe as they return to our centres.’

Lee Burton, managing director at HUB Parking Technology, said: ‘The hybrid systems allows for free-flow entry and pay-at-exit functionality via automatic number place recognition. It also allows customers to take a ticket for those odd occasions when a read is not possible; this prevents the customers having to call an intercom to deal with these exception events.’
