Macmillan Cancer Support is the BPA's Charity Partner

The BPA's corporate charity partner for the next two years is Macmillan Cancer Support.  We are excited to work with Macmillan, which is one of the largest charities in the country, providing specialist healthcare, information and financial support to people affected by cancer. It also researches the social, emotional, and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care. Macmillan Cancer Support's goal is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer in the UK.

There are currently 3 million people living with cancer in the UK, many of whom will have experienced gruelling treatments, debilitating side effects, financial struggles and anxiety about the future. This has only been made worse by the pandemic. By supporting Macmillan we ensure they can continue providing emotional, financial and practical support to those who need it most. Please follow this link to our just giving page. Every little bit helps, as shown in the below video from Owain Rees of Macmillan.

The money raised from these donations will go to support Macmillan's work across the country, examples of what your donations will go towards supporting are:

£14 funds the printing of 25 posters to promote a local Breast Cancer support group

£29 pays for a Macmillan nurse for 1 hour, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support.

£52 helps run a large Macmillan Information & Support Centre for 1 hour.

£90 pays for a Macmillan Grant that buys fresh bedding for a person who is dealing with nausea, night sweats or incontinence because of their cancer treatment.

We will be working on other exciting projects as a part of this partnership going forward and will continue to update this page with details. If you would like to get involved or to find out more email membership@britishparking.co.uk. In the meantime here are some useful links and information about Cancer provided by Macmillan.
