Hospital parking update

The government has announced that the provision of free parking for National Health Service staff by NHS Trusts has not ended and nothing has changed since the announcement on 25 March.

The government is considering how long free parking for NHS staff will need to continue, recognising that this has only been made possible by external support from local authorities and independent sector providers, and that this support cannot continue indefinitely.

Government request for business intelligence: How is COVID-19 impacting your businesses?

The government is asking businesses to provide updates on impacts across supply, demand and labour markets, actions to address these impacts, and any gaps in the Government response from your perspective. Government is providing £500,000 of funding for technology companies who come up with digital support solutions for people who need to stay at home because of coronavirus. For more information visit

Government Departments are working closely with ACAS and other partners to provide advice and support for employers and employees on the challenges surrounding CV19. As such ACAS has provided some practical information on coronavirus, which is reviewed daily to give the most recent updates and common-sense advice. It contains detailed info on social distancing and vulnerable workers, updates on working from home, school closures, mental health, lay-offs and short-time working, as well as advice for employers who have to close workplaces temporarily.
