The British Parking Awards has celebrated the best in parking management, design and innovation since 2002. Organised by Parking Review magazine, the 2014 competition builds on that success and the BPA are delighted to once again be sponsoring the Lifetime Achievement Award. This special award will recognise a parking professional who has made an outstanding contribution to the profession and candidates will be based on nominations from within the parking sector.

Parking professionals are encouraged to nominate colleagues and mentors for consideration.

This year also sees a number of new awards including the Best Car Park Operation award which is being sponsored by the Safer Parking Scheme. Safer parking status, Park Mark®, is awarded to parking facilities that have met the requirements of a risk assessment conducted by the Police. These requirements mean the parking operator has put in place measures that help to deter criminal activity and anti-social behaviour, thereby doing everything they can to prevent crime and reduce the fear of crime in their parking facility.

The award recognises the fact that there are many great existing car parks across the UK that deserve recognition for the way they are operated and maintained. The award will recognise the operation of a specific car park. The sites may be multi-level or surface. They can be ones serving: a town centre; shopping centre; airport; railway station; park & ride service; hospital; university etc. Entries must be holders of a Park Mark, awarded under the Safer Parking Scheme.

The award winners will be announced at the Lancaster London Hotel, London on Friday 7 March 2014.
