Learning & Development Network

The last eighteen months has been an exciting period for the parking industry’s skills agenda. We have seen:

• The development and launch of the UK Parking Sector Skills Strategy
• The creation of a UK Skills Board for Parking
• The review and development of national occupational standards for parking
• In-depth research into the skills profiles of the parking sector
• Partnership with Asset Skills, a leading sector skills council

Equally as encouraging has been the response to these developments from both organisations and individuals. In our on-going efforts to engage with the people implementing these advances, we are establishing a Learning & Development Network. We would be delighted if you would consider becoming a member of the parking sector’s Learning & Development Network, or alerting an interested colleague to its existence. The newly established

Learning & Development Network is dedicated exclusively to learning and development specialists in the parking sector.  Its aims are to develop a dialogue between learning and development professionals and the UK Skills Board for Parking and to facilitate an exchange of ideas and knowledge.  Network members are able to meet, network, learn and keep up-to-date with the latest developments in

L&D Events occur two to three times a year, depending on demand, and are themed to tackle issues previously raised by those with an interest in skills, learning and qualifications.  Recent themes include ‘The Strength of L&D’, ‘Career Pathways’, ‘Leadership and Management’ and ‘Making NOS Work for You’.

The L&D Network exists alongside the Annual L&D Forum, which will continue to welcome people from across the parking and broader skills sectors to learn about the UK parking skills agenda.

If you are a learning and development specialist and would like to be included in the L&D Network, contcat Dave Smith at dave,s@britishparking.co.uk or call 01444 447 316
