Correction - February 2013
Peter Lowe, chair of the Wales Group of the BPA was misquoted in the article ‘Everyone has something to say’ (Parking News, February 2013). Rather than talking about the length of stay in a Blue Badge space, Lowe was explaining the Welsh government’s five-year action plan to introduce a national blue badge parking policy guide covering all aspects of parking provision for people with impairments.
The article also quotes Lowe as saying he was: ‘blowing my own trumpet.’ In fact he said ‘The Wales group can blow its own trumpet because of the effort it has made and the progress it has made.’
He also did not say that Colin Eaketts knew nothing about transport when he joined the Wales group. Lowe said that Colin Eaketts was new to parking and went on a steep learning curve.
