The BPA has launched a Consumer Guide containing specific advice for the public regarding parking on private land, the Approved Operator Scheme (AOS) and its Code of Practice and the independent appeals service (POPLA).

The guide provides an outline of the benefits of parking in a car park displaying the AOS logo and what happens if the terms and conditions of parking in a private car park are broken. It also offers advice on appealing a ticket and what to look for when parking.

For more information about private operators’ commitments and the standards they work to, please visit this page where you can read and download the AOS Code of Practice.
