The West Bell Street car park in Dundee recently became the
10th car park operated by Dundee City Council to successfully
achieve re-accreditation of the Park Mark award.
Dundee City Council first joined the Scheme in 2004 with one
parking facility. Since that time, they have successfully brought their
remaining nine facilities on to the Scheme and year on year they have
consistently retained their Awards.
Crime levels are extremely low in their facilities and
indeed in some, there has been no recorded crime in the past year.
The Council are in the process of building a new leisure
facility and have already consulted with the Safer Parking Scheme Development
Manager, Tom Porter, to ensure that the parking facility will meet the
standards required for the Award.
Tom Porter said, “Dundee City Council have been supporters
of the Scheme in Scotland since its inception and they continue to commit the
resources required to ensure that all ten of their parking facilities maintain
the standards required. This clearly demonstrates their commitment to ensuring
Dundee is a safe place to visit and park your vehicle.”
