The Council of Representatives' role and purpose is to influence the long term direction of the Association and its mission by giving advice and guidance to the Board. The Council of Representatives contributes to the strategic aims of the Association, ensuring that the Association’s values, standards and obligations to its members and others are understood and met.
Its membership comes from and represents the major areas of activity and influence within the Association. The electoral colleges will be determined by the Board, with the approval of the Council of Representatives, from time to time in accordance with the needs of the membership.

Members considering putting themselves forward to contribute to the work of the Council of Representatives, Board or group should make themselves aware of the BPA’s 'Conflicts of Interest' policy. Declarations of Conflicts of Interest are requested at the start of all meetings and members may be required to leave the meeting during any items where a conflict is identified.
